Unintentional (Vacation) Consequences

Maybe you have not noticed, but the recent Blooming Daisies Crafts blogs have been about life in general versus “what is new with Blooming Daisies Crafts!” And today the blog will contain a little of both!

After the great fall of 2022, that broke two bones at the ankle of my right leg, the healing is progressing. Earlier this week I got a stylish new cast - gone is the basic black to be replaced with a red hot tamale. It really has the color and shape of a red pepper… As of today [should the blog get published today (it is on my list of things to do)], I have 8 days left in a cast and then I will be moving up to walking boot! In preparation, a “step equalizer” has been ordered and delivered. Can you tell I am excited? This wonderful apparatus will even out my gait and lessen the chance of hip pain. So important, see below!

All of this is the unintended consequences of not picking up a bag. Consequences follow actions. In this case, it was my inaction. A shopping bag was on the floor. I looked at it and thought, “I should pick that up.” I didn’t do it. Many of you will admit to hearing the old adage, “If it was a snake, it would have bitten you.” The bag “bit” me. My foot caught in a strap, I tripped, my ankle was broken upon landing, and the cascade of purchases followed—the knee scooter, shower chair, cast cover, and, because of the posture needed for the knee scooter, my back started aching, hence a back brace. And the aforementioned step equalizer.

With Blooming Daisies Crafts, the unintended consequences starts with putting a new spin on an old skill. Adapting to sewing with my left foot is not hard, but not easy either. It has slowed me down, substantially. Not being as quick on the business or personal projects because of all the added effects, I have had to place my eBay Blooming Daisies Crafts store on vacation hold. Please note that you can still purchase on my website because the shipping is not as regimented as eBay.

There have been some positive unintended consequences of the fall. Just like my daughter coming to help out a week or so ago, my sister flew into town this past week as my husband had a business trip to Phoenix, our “hometown”. He is bringing back some Carolina’s! My sister has doing some things for Blooming Daisies Crafts, chauffeuring me around town, and helping with other things around the house. I am very fortunate to have family during this recovery period.

So today, I don’t have any new product to promote but we are 3 days away from Halloween! Remember the fun Glow in the Dark Pumpkins for WIP Project Bags, Q-Snap Bags and Grime Guards! The pumpkins vaguely resemble a popular candy coated chocolate that is very popular and they glow in the dark!

Also there are a bunch of Halloween Needle Minders! Go to the “Needle Minder” tab and click on Holiday and scroll through them all. Just like candy, you will not be able to stop at one!

Hopefully, soon Blooming Daisies Crafts will be back to normal operations!
